Nexus Maritime Insurance was founded in 1999 by a team of underwriters and maritime professionals who believed the industry deserved better — more specialist knowledge, faster claims, and policies genuinely built around the realities of life at sea.
From our origins as a boutique yacht insurer in the Mediterranean, we have grown into a global maritime insurance broker operating across 40+ countries, covering everything from classic wooden ketches to modern container fleets.
We remain an independent, specialist firm. That independence means we work for our clients — not for shareholders — and it means every policy we write is reviewed by someone who has spent time on the water.
